Simon Says Challenge

This time for the Simon says Challenge it was to combine the color red and green. Of course when I think of that combination Christmas and snow immediately spring to mind. My sister had this image and I knew it was perfect for this challenge. Not much is cuter than a red and green scarf or the red boots that the hedge hog is wearing. The paper was in one of her many Christmas pads. My favorites are the mouse and the bunny. I think they are the cutest.

"Cute as a bug"

This is the card that I made for the Cupcake Craft challenge "cute as a bug". My sister had this adorable Magnolia image, Tilda with a bumble bee. I wanted Tilda's clothes to match the bee but though making her shirt and socks black and yellow would be too much. I was wrong and it turned out adorable. The paper was made by stamping the bee part from a stamp all over a sheet of white cardstock. You can't tell but the bees are embossed. It turned out very well I think.

Card for Paige

My sister follows the blog of woman(Erin at scrap, stamp and be merry) who lives next door to a 13 year old girl named Paige. Paige and her mother were out kayaking when they were rammed by a speed boat. Since the accident Paige's neighbor has taken up the task of finding crafters to make cards to send to Paige. Paige now looks forward to the mail coming every day. I thought this was a wonderful cause so I decided to make a card with my sister. The request was that the card be girly. This is what I came up with. The inside contains the message of "sending you a great big hug". In my opinion everyone loves hugs. I know that I do. And what can be better than a big huge and a cute handmade card.

Pile Up

When I finished coloring this image I almost tossed it out. I reconsidered then thought of cutting the dog off because he was the part I didn't like. He ended up too dark and I couldn't see his eyes. I changed my mind again and decided to keep it intact. It wouldn't look right without the doggie. I chose striped paper because it just made all the other colors pop. This card is black on the inside as I haven't decided what sentiment to place inside. That is the case with most of my cards.

Moosing around

This moose was just too adorable to pass up. I've been meaning to finish this and send it to someone as an I miss you card. Well it is finished except that the inside is blank.

Mike and Ike

The image on this card is Mike and Ike. I happen to love polar bears so I adore the mike and ike stamps. I made this card a while back but just got around to taking a picture. I made a birthday card for my boyfriend this year with a mike and ike image. The card is simple but cute. And on the back is my initial. I put it on most of my cards as kinda of trade mark. And once again a blue color scheme.

Birthday Elephant

This was another image that I stumbled across while at my sister's in July. I had lots of cards at home but I didn't have any for birthdays. The coloring on the elephant turned about practically flawless if I say so myself. The color scheme is mostly in blues since that is my favorite color. But the balloon had to be red. Ever since watching Winnie the Pooh I'm drawn to balloons being red. The paper around the image is the same as the other seeing as how I came by it the same way as the other card. It looks just as great with this image.

Birthdays

I was cat sitting for my sister for about 2 weeks back in July. She told me that I could play with her crafting supplies while I was there. I came across this image. I knew right away that I wanted to make a card with it. The pun was just too funny. I colored the plunger and toilet as realisticly was possible and the rest just had fun with flashy colors. The border was a paper that my mom had punched a shape out of with her die cut machine. I picked it up and put it around my image just for the heck of it and it was perfect.

Simple yet fabulous

I think this one was my sister's favorite. So simple yet so adorable. Brown to match the bear, pink to match the paper backing the image and the white lace to top it off. I love it but I'm biased when it comes to my own cards.

Get Well bear

As much as I love the outside of the card this part is my favorite... the adorable message inside. The little heart shaped brad was the best touch. I squealed with satisfaction when I was finished.

I love this card! The image was just too adorable and everything else fit together so well. The brads are the perfect touch. I was only going to put on two but I decided that I wanted to use four. I mean why not. They finished it off so well.

Sugar Nellie

I did this little card for a challege but my mom had the camera with her out of town and I was unable to post in time for the challenge. I decided to put it up here anyway. I had previously colored the image and given it a matching background. I completed this one pretty much completely on my own with a little color coordinating advice from my mom and sister.

My first card

This was my first card. I made it for the Just Magnolia challenge. It took bits from three different cards and took 2 tries before the desired outcome. I got frustrated several times but thanks to my sister it didn't end up in the trash.
